Also within the boundaries of the estate is Ballylinch Stud, where the McCalmont family, bred many world famous racing horses including The Tetrarch, once known as "the fastest horse in the history of the turf". While hunting can be arranged with any of the above packs, the hotel and it’s owners have close connections with the Kilkenny Hunt (who still hold regular meetings in the hotel), and particularly with the Kilmoganny Foxhounds where Patricia Brennan (daughter of Charlie Blacque founder Member of the hunt) has been a member and joint master for many years. Please also bear in mind that the Tipperary, Laois, and the Black & Tans meets could be up to 1-11/2 hours drive away.
