RENOVATION OF THE CLUB HOUSE HOTEL KILKENNY

Balancing A Classic Aesthetic With Contemporary Needs

Our majestic building was first built way back to 1797. In 2025, it was time to commission a huge €2.5million renovation of one of Kilkenny’s most popular landmarks. A renovation that would not only preserve the authenticity of our famous building but ensure a new generation of guests get to enjoy a unique balance of 18th-century style and 21st-century sophistication.

Honouring Our Heritage

Steeped in history, our gorgeous 3-star Georgian townhouse is filled with original period features, unrivalled architecture and meticulously detailed plasterwork. To ensure all work was carried out to the highest standard, we called in a huge number of skilled craftsmen. Together, they revitalised our beautiful arches, original fireplaces, large windows, ornate architraves and our celebrated stained glass. They undertook a stunning €35,000 restoration of a beloved original feature – our iconic early 1800s iron porch, which originally held Kilkenny’s first electric streetlight. They also completely stripped out the hotel wings and revamped the guestrooms, stairwells and public spaces. From new insulation, wiring and plumbing, to new furniture, lighting and air conditioning, everything has been transformed with a contemporary take on our famous period style.

Assembling The Best In The Business
